This years luncheon was a huge success, with 20 tables of children from all over the illawarra and beyond. Congratulations to the CBCA for organising a terrific event.

This year’s luncheon was held on the 29th of October. Local children’s authors attended, along with children from schools throughout the Illawarra. We signed books, wrote kooky stories, played trivia. This event is always very popular, so I am delighted to have been invited to this exciting affair!

The Illawarra South Coast Branch of the CBCA held their annual Literary Lunch on the 24th of October inviting local children’s authors and schools in the region. It was an enjoyable day with games and storytelling, and even a book launch! It was very exciting for all who attended. Author’s books were also available for purchase during the day. The Dragon (poem) has been published in the June 2022 edition of Blast Off, Issue No.5 of The School Magazine. The illustration by Michel Streich is very nice.

A Dragon Tale, an article for children about Eastern Water Dragons, has been published in the June 2022 edition of Blast off, Issue No.5 of The School Magazine. The article was beautifully illustrated by Fifi Colston.

The 2021 Children’s Literary Lunch has been cancelled due to Covid 19. The Committee had already postponed the event, hoping conditions would improve. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case. It’s very sad, but I’m hoping we can look forward to more events in 2022!

The CBCA NSW Illawarra-South Coast Sub-Branch Kids Day Out was held on the 16th of January 2020 at the Dapto Ribbonwood Centre. Authors, children and volunteers all enjoyed the activities during the day. Thank you to Zoe and the rest of the CBCA committee for organising the event.

Book Launch cake – Yummy!

I sat in my room on a cold rainy day, trying to think of a fun game to play. I grabbed my new paintbox from under the table. ‘Paint with Magic’ it said on the label.

I painted an octopus in a blue sea. But when I had finished, he shouted at me: ‘Hey you, with the paint brush!’ (I gasped in alarm). ‘I’ve only got seven. You’ve left off one arm.’
